Thanks to my friends and family I reached my goal of 300 dollars!  Just because I made my goal doesn’t mean I will stop trying to raise money!!!

Here’s some FACT about how the money can help!

Girls’ Access to Education (GATE) – Cambodia Provides educational scholarships to over 600 at-risk and exploited young girls in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Banteay Meanchey.
– $10 purchases two school uniforms
– $45 provides ten girls with healthcare for one year
– $225 provides housing and food to one girl for an entire school year

Integrated Rural Development (IRD) Program – Cambodia An integrated social development program that provides educational scholarships, preventative healthcare training, microloans, and agriculture/farming resources to over 5,000 rural villagers and ethnic minorities residing in the Cambodian highlands.
– $12 purchases a ceramic water filter for one family
– $50 purchases a cash crop start-up kit for two families
– $100 provides seed funding for a community microloan group

Safe Migration and Reduction of Trafficking (SMART) – Cambodia A mobile anti-trafficking program which moves from point-to-point along the porous Thai-Cambodian border to educate at-risk migrant laborers and street children on the dangers of human trafficking.
– $25 covers counter-trafficking materials for one public education session
– $46 will train one migrant girl to become a cross-border ‘peer educator’
– $165 covers the salary of a SMART community educator for one month

Consoling Through Counseling (CTC) – Cambodia Provides individual and group trauma counseling to hundreds of young victims of human trafficking, sexual abuse and domestic violence residing in a women’s shelter in rural Cambodia.
– $10 provides professional counseling to one girl for an entire month
– $50 covers the salary of a Cambodian psychologist for one week
– $500 helps five assault victims overcome PTSD so they can rejoin society

Non-Formal Education (NFE) – Cambodia
Provides literacy classes, vocational training and life skills to sex workers and their
children in order to help them find better opportunities.
– $10 provides monthly materials for one literacy class
– $20 provides the daughter of a sex worker with the materials necessary to begin public school
– $170 provides a sex worker with the skills she needs to find a new job

Well Projects – Cambodia
Constructs water wells that serve entire villages in the drought-prone regions of rural
Cambodia.
– $10 provides a lifetime of clean, safe drinking water to one Cambodian child
– $50 covers one village education session on proper hygiene and sanitation
-$1,800 covers the materials and labor for the construction of one water well

Phnong Education Initiative (PEI) – Cambodia
Improves access to education for ethnic minorities in Mondulkiri through children’s
scholarships and teacher training.
– $20 covers the cost of teacher training and living expenses for a Phnong woman for one month
– $130 feeds one Phnong scholarship recipient for an entire year
– $500 allows one Phnong child to complete lower secondary school
